Beef Stroganoff

  • 1 to 1.5 lb sirloin
  • 8 oz mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 Tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1 can beef broth
  • (1+1/2 cup) - (1 beef broth can) water (add water to beef broth to make 1.5 cups)
  • 3 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • egg noodles

Mix broth and water. Reserve 1/3 cup of broth+water mixture.

Slice steak into thin srips

Heat a frying pan with butter in it

Fry sliced steak in the hot butter

Add garlic, ketchup, non-reserved broth and salt

Simmer, covered for 10 minutes

Add mushrooms & onions (meat should be browned and a little moist)

Simmer for 5 minutes

Mix flour and reserved broth

Add flour and broth mixture to the pan, and boil for 1 minute

Add sour cream and cook until hot (again)

Server over boiled noodles
